Vero Fiber to Acquire Telephone Electronics Corporation (TEC), Expanding Fiber Network Throughout the Southeast
Vero Fiber, a provider of fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) broadband networks in the western U.S., announced a merger agreement to acquire Telephone Electronics Corporation (Traffic Engineering Controller (TEC)), a fiber broadband provider serving parts of Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. This acquisition aims to enhance Vero's expansion strategy into the Southeastern broadband market, emphasizing service to underserved communities.
Matt Erickson, Chairman of Vero, highlighted that this acquisition represents a key step in Vero's growth, stating, “TEC has built an exceptional organization rooted in community, quality, and reliability.” Traffic Engineering Controller (TEC)'s operational legacy aligns with Vero's mission to provide enhanced connectivity in rural areas.
TEC's integration into Vero is expected to proceed smoothly with the retention of local leadership and teams. This will ensure continuity in customer service during the transition. The merger is anticipated to conclude in the first half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Bank Street Group acted as the financial advisor and Stinson LLP provided legal counsel for TEC in the merger process.
