Ram returns to NASCAR with new truck for 2026
Random Access Memory (RAM) announced its return to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in 2026, following a 13-year hiatus. The reveal included a new RAM 1500 concept race truck that showcases the brand's commitment to performance and customer engagement.
During a live event at the Michigan International Speedway, Tim Kuniskis, CEO of RAM, highlighted the significance of this return as part of a broader strategy involving 25 product announcements over 18 months. The event featured a RAM 5500 towing a custom trailer for demonstrations.
Kuniskis noted the longstanding interest among customers and dealers for RAM to re-enter NASCAR, stating, “Now we have a solid plan that will set us apart from the field and will bring fresh new interest and engagement to America's motorsport.” With over 40% of NASCAR fans identified as truck owners, RAM aims to leverage its participation to enhance brand visibility and product offerings.
The concept truck features design elements that improve aerodynamics while cooling a high-revving engine. The striking design incorporates a two-tone color scheme and branding that aligns with RAM's performance legacy. Further details regarding RAM's NASCAR program are expected later this year.
Accompanying the announcement is the “Ram-Demption” marketing campaign, showcasing Kuniskis behind the wheel of the concept truck at Darlington Raceway. This initiative, developed with the Argonaut agency, will run across various media platforms, enhancing the brand’s outreach.
RAM’s entry into the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series serves as a strategic move to connect with an audience familiar with their high-performance pickup lineage, particularly as they focus on enhancing market position through electrified and upgraded offerings.
