VIAVI Solutions introduces colocation capability at VALOR Lab

VIAVI Solutions Inc. has launched a new colocation feature at its VALOR Lab-as-a-Service facility in Chandler, Arizona, catering to the increasing needs for comprehensive testing services from Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) (RAN) clients. Supported by funding from the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration's Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, this update enhances flexibility and capacity for users.

The colocation model enables prolonged client engagement with the lab, facilitating thorough testing throughout the product lifecycle. Secure and isolated testing environments are ensured via VLANs, optimizing performance for clients. Erik Probstfield, Senior Director at VIAVI, stated, “We are excited to introduce this new colocation offering at VALOR.” He mentioned that the facility accommodates both vendors needing specific tests and those seeking extensive end-to-end testing solutions.

This development aligns with the objectives of the NTIA and PWSCIF to foster advancements in open wireless infrastructure. The VALOR Lab also provides additional resources such as RF chamber capabilities for evaluating Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) and beamforming performance using the NITRO Wireless Open RAN (ORAN) Test Suite.

Nord Security has published its annual Impact Report, highlighting its sustainability commitments and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG). This report supports the firm's initiative to improve online safety while benefiting communities and the environment. Co-founder Eimantas Sabaliauskas noted that the report shows their determination to assist individuals and organizations in achieving digital control.

A considerable part of these emissions comes from indirect sources, leading to interactions with suppliers on emissions reduction transparency. The company houses colocated servers in 37 global data centers, with 50% powered by renewable energy from 32 sites.

Nord Security has also focused on energy efficiency and community engagement, participating in numerous social initiatives and evaluating sustainability risks in accordance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Aviz Networks has stressed the necessity for flexible observability solutions to address current IT challenges. Insights reveal that traditional observability systems may not meet requirements for scalability and agility, resulting in issues like rising costs and limited data ownership due to vendor-controlled settings.

A new initiative, Deep Network Observability Interop, aims to endorse modular, software-first, vendor-neutral observability solutions compatible with contemporary technology. CEO Vishal Shukla stated, “This is the inflection point. Infrastructure teams deserve choices, transparency, and automation that scale.” This indicates the continued need for adaptable observability frameworks as organizational demands shift.
