Telstra partners with Nokia to provide access to secure network APIs
Telstra and Nokia have formed a partnership aimed at granting developers secure access to network APIs. This initiative supports the creation of applications designed for various enterprise scenarios, leveraging Nokia's Network as Code platform and linked to Telstra's muru-D Labs.
Partnership Overview
The collaboration is intended to improve network functionality for enterprises, particularly in areas such as traffic management during large events and enhancing network observability. Developers will have access to both live and simulated APIs, which will aid in the building, testing, and deployment of applications utilizing Telstra's network features.
Strategic Alignment
According to Kim Krogh Andersen, Group Executive Product & Technology at Telstra, this initiative corresponds with the Connected Future 30 strategy. This strategy aims to encapsulate connectivity capabilities that address customer needs through flexible solutions.
Involvement of Developers
Andersen noted that enabling secure access to Telstra's network APIs is vital for the development of responsive applications. The partnership includes plans for a local hackathon, where developers will have opportunities to experiment with both sandbox and live Application Programming Interface (API) access.
Nokia's Role
Nokia's strategy focuses on integrating multiple API ecosystems through its platform, targeting enhanced operational efficiency.
