Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud enhances security through Intel collaboration

Acronis has announced enhancements to its Cyber Protect Cloud, integrating Intel® Core™ Ultra processors to improve security and performance for managed service providers (MSPs) and enterprises. This collaboration signifies an effort to deliver automated threat detection and remediation, particularly for users with limited resources.

Product Update

The updated Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud employs Artificial Intelligence (AI) for real-time threat identification and response at endpoints, effectively countering advanced attacks that traditional security measures may overlook. By leveraging Intel technology, the platform is engineered to offload demanding AI processes from the Central Processing Unit (CPU) to the Neural Processing Unit (NPU), reducing CPU load by as much as 92% and thus optimizing overall system efficiency and battery longevity.

Technology Strategy

This Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform offers a comprehensive security solution that includes anti-malware, email security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Extended detection and response (XDR). Acronis ensures that its services align with NIST cybersecurity functions, thus providing a structured approach to identifying, protecting against, detecting, responding to, and recovering from various cyber threats.

Leadership Perspective

Acronis President Gaidar Magdanurov emphasized the necessity of integrated, AI-powered cyber protection to combat modern threats, stating, “Cyber protection must be natively integrated and AI-powered to address modern cyber threats.” Meanwhile, Intel VP Carla Rodríguez highlighted the advantages of running security tasks on an AI-equipped PC, leading to lower latency and improved performance.

The collaboration addresses challenges associated with traditional anti-malware solutions, aiming to reduce complexity and resource consumption while enhancing operational efficiency for IT teams. The amalgamated capabilities of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud and Intel technology provide a coherent method for managing endpoint security.
