OpenAI partners with G42 to build AI data center in Abu Dhabi - June 5, 2025
OpenAI has teamed up with G42 to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center in Abu Dhabi, marking a key advancement in both companies' efforts to build AI infrastructure outside the U.S. This project, named Stargate UAE, aims for a significant capacity of 1 gigawatt and includes plans for enhanced ChatGPT services targeted at UAE users.
Project Overview
The initial phase of this project will have a capacity of 200 megawatts, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. G42 is responsible for the construction funding, while OpenAI and Oracle will oversee operational management, indicating a collaborative approach to resource deployment.
