Nokia updates leadership roles within Group Leadership Team

Nokia Corporation has announced changes to its Group Leadership Team. Federico Guillén will retire on December 31, 2025, stepping down as President of the Network Infrastructure business group and as a member of the leadership team effective June 30, 2025.

David Heard, the current Chief Strategic Growth Officer of Network Infrastructure and former CEO of Infinera, will assume the role of President of Network Infrastructure starting July 1, 2025. He will report directly to Justin Hotard, President and CEO of Nokia, operating from Dallas. Guillén and Heard will work together to facilitate a structured transition.

Heard joined Nokia following the acquisition of Infinera in February 2025. His background includes leadership roles at technology firms including JDSU, BigBand Networks, Somera Communications, Lucent, and AT&T, adding to his experience within the telecom sector.

Justin Hotard acknowledged Guillén's leadership, stating, “As the first President of Network Infrastructure, he has been instrumental in building a high-performing business with a strong customer focus.” He emphasized Guillén’s contributions during significant portfolio changes, such as the Infinera acquisition.

Hotard also expressed confidence in Heard's capabilities, highlighting, “David has a proven track record of scaling businesses and driving innovation,” and noted his familiarity with hyperscalers and AI-optimized solutions. Additionally, Hanrahan will join the Group Leadership Team as Chief of Staff to the President and CEO, where she will focus on driving strategic initiatives and ensuring organizational alignment.
