Nokia collaborates with Netplus to improve IPTV services in India.
Nokia has formed a partnership with Netplus to implement advanced 400G routing technology along with a software-defined access network (SDAN) platform, which aims to improve high-speed broadband and IPTV offerings across Punjab and other cities in India.
This initiative will enable Netplus to deliver enhanced services to approximately two million users, focusing on energy efficiency and scalability to meet future demands in various sectors, including business and education.
The transition to this new system facilitates a shift from conventional television to on-demand IPTV services and supports high-bandwidth applications like e-commerce and online education. Nokia's 7250 Interconnect Routers will be utilized for broadband aggregation, while the 7750 Service Router will handle broadband network gateway roles, integrated within an SDAN-based architecture designed for better service performance and efficient network management.
“Consumers today want access to high-speed IPTV across multiple devices and locations,” remarked Arshdeep Singh Mundi, Executive Director at Netplus. He highlighted that this deployment will lead to an improved customer experience and adaptability to evolving requirements.
Jivitesh Nayal, Head of Emerging Business for Network Infrastructure at Nokia India, expressed that the collaboration with Netplus establishes a foundation for enhanced broadband experiences, enabling dependable network performance and lowering operational costs.
