NASA partners with Netflix for live programming

Navigating new audience engagement, NASA has teamed up with Netflix to offer live programming via its NASA+ service starting this summer. This initiative will include broadcasts of rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, and direct views from the International Space Station.

Rebecca Sirmons, the general manager of NASA+, highlighted the agency's commitment to sharing its space exploration story more broadly. The partnership is designed to motivate younger viewers by enhancing accessibility to NASA’s activities.

With Netflix's audience exceeding 700 million subscribers, NASA aims to engage a wider global community and promote interest in science and exploration. The agency sees this initiative as central to encouraging public involvement in space exploration.

NASA+ will continue to be available free of charge and ad-free through its app and website. Further details on upcoming program schedules will be provided before the official launch.
