NASA engages students through astronaut interactions in New York and Utah

NASA will host interactive events for students from New York and Utah, allowing them to engage with astronauts aboard the International Space Station. This initiative emphasizes STEM career interest among young learners.

Event Details

On June 23 at 11:30 a.m. EDT, astronauts Nichole Ayers and Anne McClain will connect with students from P.S. 71 Forest Elementary School in Ridgewood, New York. Media representatives interested in covering this session must RSVP to the school's contact by June 20.

Subsequently, on June 27 at 11:05 a.m., the astronauts will interact with students at Douglas Space and Science Foundation in Layton, Utah. Media must confirm their attendance by June 25 to a designated representative.

Educational Focus

P.S. 71 Forest Elementary serves kindergarten through fifth grade students, while Douglas Space and Science Foundation will involve participants in its Science, Technology, Achievement Research camp. Both events aim to enhance student engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
