Micron Technology commits to AI education initiative

Micron Technology, Inc. has announced its commitment to the White House’s Pledge to America’s Youth, specifically focusing on the investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) education. This initiative aims to prepare young Americans for future roles in an economy increasingly influenced by AI.

Over the next four years, Micron intends to engage more than 40,000 students and educators through various AI education initiatives and mentorship programs. Their strategy includes the integration of AI coursework into existing programs, partnerships with customers and STEM organizations to improve accessibility, and strengthening community ties to promote AI learning opportunities.

Among Micron's initiatives are a new volunteer program and free resources available via the Micron Educator Hub. These actions are designed to complement recent executive orders aimed at enhancing AI education while supporting the wider STEM educational pathway.

During a statement, Micron’s CEO Sanjay Mehrotra noted the significance of investing in AI education, asserting, “AI is unlocking a transformative era… this initiative accelerates opportunities for America’s learners.” Furthermore, Micron is looking to bolster the semiconductor sector through a planned $200 billion investment, which is projected to create around 90,000 job opportunities.
