Ericsson introduces On-Demand core network services platform for CSPs

Ericsson has introduced its On-Demand platform, a cloud-native core network services solution aimed at Communication Service Providers (CSPs). This platform enables CSPs to rapidly provision core services, deploy them within minutes, and utilize a billing model based on consumption.

Product Features

The On-Demand platform is powered by Google Cloud's infrastructure, leveraging Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for effective operational management. This integration aims to reduce complexity while offering flexibility, allowing CSPs to enhance their capabilities for innovation and global reach.

Notable features of the platform include transparent pricing and built-in security, along with fully managed operations. The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams at Ericsson facilitate automated troubleshooting, supporting CSPs in upgrading their networks with minimal disruption while adhering to compliance and sovereignty guidelines.

Leadership Insight

Eric Parsons, VP of Emerging Segments at Ericsson, emphasized that the platform enables Chief Technology Officers to enhance speed, scalability, and strategic growth. Additionally, Muninder Singh Sambi from Google Cloud noted that this collaboration helps CSPs swiftly implement 5G core services and pursue new revenue opportunities.

This update reflects the ongoing efforts of Ericsson and Google Cloud to optimize network service offerings for providers, emphasizing the importance of operational efficiency and capacity responsiveness.
