Dell'Oro Group RAN report indicates revenue growth outside China

Recent findings from Dell'Oro Group highlight a continuous growth trend in Radio Access Network (RAN) revenues outside of China during the second quarter of 2025. This development marks a reversal after two years of declines, suggesting an improved market environment for the telecommunications sector.

Stefan Pongratz, Vice President of RAN market research at Dell'Oro Group, noted that while growth is encouraging, the overall market sentiment remains cautious. “Our initial assessment confirms that the narrative we've been discussing for some time is now coming to fruition,” stated Pongratz, who also expressed that an immediate recovery is not expected and predicts a largely stable long-term outlook.

Market Dynamics

The report reveals that regions such as Europe, the Middle East, and Africa nearly compensated for downturns in areas including the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific. The competitive dynamics are evolving, with leading vendors expanding their market presence while others encounter challenges. In North America and China, Ericsson and Huawei captured over 60 percent of the market share, establishing themselves as significant suppliers. The forecast indicates that the total RAN market is likely to stabilize throughout 2025.
