Comcast investment secures broadband for Kings County homes and businesses

Comcast investment in Kings County connects thousands of homes and businesses to multi-gig speeds

Comcast partnered with the County of Kings to commence a broadband project in Lemoore, California, on October 28. This initiative will extend Comcast’s Xfinity broadband network to over 4,000 locations, with project completion anticipated by late 2026.

The expansion is part of Comcast’s over $4 billion technology and infrastructure investment in California over the past three years. It is supported by more than $21 million from the California Public Utilities Commission, alongside private funding from Comcast.

In addition, Comcast contributed $10,000 to Kings Community Action Organization to promote digital access and resources for local residents. Doug Verboon, a member of the Kings County Board of Supervisors, expressed gratitude for the project, highlighting its potential to improve quality of life and support businesses.

Comcast's network aims to provide reliable multi-gigabit Internet connectivity across the region. This extension adds to Xfinity's existing infrastructure that serves over 64 million homes and businesses nationwide. Comcast emphasizes the importance of security, stating that their network is designed to protect users from various cyber threats.

Residential customers will have access to Xfinity's full range of services, including Internet, video, mobile, and voice products. The upgraded infrastructure will enhance customer experiences for streaming, video conferencing, and working from home.

Comcast Business will offer tailored solutions to local businesses, providing services such as cybersecurity, networking, and communications to support organizational objectives. Experts in the industry recognize Comcast Business for its scalability and service offerings.

Comcast’s initiatives aim to promote economic mobility within the community. The company also runs the Internet Essentials program, providing low-cost Internet services to eligible households, connecting over 2.2 million Californians to broadband since 2011.

Over the last three years, Comcast has invested more than $130.5 million in California non-profits focused on digital skills and connectivity initiatives.
