Bank Negara Indonesia and Cloudera partner to enhance AI capabilities
Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has expanded its collaboration with Cloudera, emphasizing AI-driven solutions to facilitate its digital transformation. This partnership aims to improve BNI’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) supply chain, governance, and analytics capabilities through Cloudera’s data platform.
Partnership Scope
As part of the partnership, BNI has adopted Cloudera AI Inferencing, which is supported by NVIDIA microservices. This on-premises (on-prem) solution allows for the secure implementation of large language models, enabling BNI to effectively manage Generative AI (GenAI) applications while safeguarding sensitive information. The full rollout is anticipated by the end of 2025.

Toto Prasetio, BNI’s Chief Information Officer, noted the role of Cloudera’s offerings in securely scaling its GenAI initiatives. The collaboration is designed to comply with Indonesia's regulatory requirements and improve customer service efficiency. Cloudera’s platform is geared towards enhancing BNI’s predictive analytics and customer personalization strategies.
Current Applications
BNI is utilizing Machine Learning (ML) across various applications, such as personalized product recommendations, supply chain optimization, and identifying potentially illicit online gambling activities. Remus Lim from Cloudera commended BNI’s efforts in adopting AI technologies within the banking sector and affirmed their support for establishing a strong AI infrastructure.
