NASA opens media accreditation for SpaceX Crew-11 mission

NASA has initiated media accreditation for the upcoming SpaceX Crew-11 mission, which is set to launch between late July and early August. The Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft will transport astronauts to the International Space Station as part of a science expedition.

This mission will feature four astronauts: NASA's Zena Cardman, serving as commander; pilot Mike Fincke, also from NASA; Kimiya Yui from Japan's JAXA as a mission specialist; and Oleg Platonov from Roscosmos, also a mission specialist. This marks the first spaceflight for both Cardman and Platonov, while Fincke will be making his fourth flight and Yui his second.

Media accreditation deadlines for attending the Crew-11 launch are set. International media without U.S. citizenship need to apply by 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 6, while U.S. media and U.S. citizens working for international media organizations must apply by 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 14. Applications must be submitted online.

NASA's media accreditation policy is available online. Inquiries regarding accreditation or logistical arrangements can be directed via email. Requests for satellite truck space, tents, or electrical connections are also due by July 14.
