Delta and Siemens form partnership to enhance data center solutions
Delta and Siemens Smart Infrastructure established a global partnership aimed at delivering prefabricated, modular power solutions to enhance data center infrastructure deployment. This collaboration focuses on reducing Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) for hyperscale and colocation operators amid rising demands in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud computing markets.
Victor Cheng, CEO of Delta Electronics (Thailand), emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “The fast-growing AI trend requires dynamic collaboration with partners, a core of Delta's long-term strategy.” Cheng noted that the agreement signing in Thailand represents Delta’s capabilities to provide fast, localized delivery through its integration hubs across Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Stephan May, CEO of Electrification & Automation at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, remarked on the partnership's significance, stating, “Our partnership with Delta represents an important milestone for data center construction in the world's fastest-growing markets.” May pointed out that the collaboration combines Siemens' electrical power distribution expertise with Delta's offerings in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, thereby significantly reducing construction time and enhancing energy efficiency.
Central to this agreement is the delivery of integrated containerized power solutions. By employing a prefabricated and standardized modular system, the approach aims to cut construction timelines by up to 50%, reduce construction risks, and optimize data center square footage. The innovative design could also result in a CAPEX reduction of up to 20% and a decrease in carbon emissions due to minimized concrete use.
Both companies expressed commitment to leveraging their complementary expertise to foster effective partnerships, aiming to enhance operational outcomes for their customers and address the challenges within the data center sector.
