Lantronix Introduces xPico 600 Embedded Gateway Modules for Wi-Fi 6 and BLE 5.4
Lantronix Inc. introduced the xPico 600 series, a production-ready family of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4 embedded gateway modules. The company said the offering targets embedded IoT development timelines by reducing work between a product concept and deployment.
The series includes wireless connectivity plus security and cloud lifecycle management. Lantronix said it removed months of driver development, security validation, and regulatory overhead that can delay revenue-generating deployments. The modules also were described as integrating with Percepxion for zero-touch provisioning, lifecycle management, and real-time device telemetry.
Functionally, xPico 600 consolidated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Ethernet, and BLE 5.4, along with an integrated IoT communications engine. The product included concurrent Soft AP plus client mode for uninterrupted field operations, and it could operate as a network co-processor or a standalone wireless MCU. The modules were designed for an operating range of -40°C to +85°C and included pre-integrated Percepxion support for remote management and updates.
Lantronix said Percepxion provided zero-touch provisioning to eliminate on-site configuration for large-scale rollouts, automated firmware-over-the-air updates, and built-in telemetry and analytics. For security, Lantronix said its InfiniShield framework supported secure boot and firmware integrity validation, secure FOTA updates, encryption and protection of keys and data-at-rest, role-based access control and policy enforcement, and fine-grained network service management. The modules also supported transparent pass-through using TruPort technology and added socket capabilities for TCP, UDP, and TLS, with configuration options including command mode, Web Services APIs, and XML.
“Wi-Fi 6 is in the sweet spot for the next wave of cost-sensitive IoT products. By delivering a production-ready platform engineered for next-generation technology today, we are helping our OEM customers innovate faster, streamline device lifecycle management and build a defensible competitive edge,” said Mathi Gurusamy, chief strategy officer at Lantronix.
Lantronix said the xPico 600 series was available now.
